The Beijing International Festival Chorus is committed to offering music education activities to local communities in Beijing and its environs. Utilizing skills and specialist knowledge from within the chorus, IFC outreach projects and events are aimed at extending the musical provision within specific charities, providing young local musicians master classes with guest artists, and developing links with other musical communities. This is IFC’s way of giving back and contributing to the harmonious society.
The IFC’s outreach programme strives to be inclusive of all ages and ability, and co-ordinates projects on short and long term basis depending on need.
In addition to the outreach programmes IFC gives to a local charity the proceeds of its annual Madrigals Concert.

Members of IFC working with Hong Dan Dan Choir for the Blind
The IFC has taken on artistic leadership of this choir which consists of around 40 members of the visually impaired adult community in Beijing. The Hong Dan Dan choir’s weekly training and rehearsals have been led by IFC members since September 2008. A recently formed chamber choir, also coached by IFC members, extends the skills of those members with more experience.
